Investment Types

Through its custodial partnership with LPL Financial, Redwing Financial has access to a vast selection of investment options, including Certificates of Deposit, individual and laddered bond offerings, municipal investments, individual stocks, open-end and closed-end mutual funds, select limited partnerships, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and more.

At Redwing Financial, we do not typically recommend passive index funds, ETFs or other index-hugging, algorithmically-traded products; nor do we use complex derivatives that gamble on investor or market behaviors or which are structured in such a way as to prevent reasonable statistical analysis.  Should those investments appeal to an individual investor and indeed prove suitable to their unique investment needs, many options are available and will be subject to the same due diligence process afforded each individual investment selection we make with or on behalf of our clients.

As a general rule, we seek to hire investors on behalf of our clients through the use of actively managed mutual funds; however, we acknowledge that not all accounts can or should be managed identically.  We offer both model-based as well as individually-tailored investment strategies.  As different investment techniques and types may be utilized to aim to satisfy varying investment or income goals, simple, blended and even highly diversified "bucket" strategies may be employed simultaneously across even the various accounts of a given household.

We do not sacrifice quality in the interest of ourselves; we take our fiduciary responsibility to heart and always seek to provide the most appropriate and cost-effective options to our clients.  We strive to keep our management fees at some of the lowest in industry, while still seeking to find and hire some of the smartest people in the industry for their investment expertise.

Regardless of the types of investment products and strategies recommended and ultimately used, Redwing Financial places the highest priority on ensuring client understanding of those products and strategies, and provides personalized educational guidance and support to that end.

Investing involves risk including loss of principal. No strategy assures success or protects against loss.  Investing in mutual funds involves risk, including possible loss of principal. Value will fluctuate with market conditions and may not achieve its investment objective.
